Has There Been A Film That Has Made An Impact On Your Life

Post by Hurghada Lady »

Has there been any film that has made an impact on your life?

"Gone With The Wind" is mine, my mother went to see Gone With The Wind when she was pregnant, she thought Melanie was such a loving, kind, thoughtful person she decided to call me Melanie.

When I was in my twenties my mother said if she had known how I was going to grow up she would have called me "Scarlett" and I have to say I do like the name "Scarlett".

At least you got a "Scarlet" forum to administer
Can't think of any films that have had an impact on me though :?

Can you believe I have never seen Gone with the Wind!! I wouldn't say any film has had an impact on my life...I love the end of Officer and a Gentleman & Pretty Woman...both never fail to make me cry & I've seen both a hundred times (yes I love Richard Gere)
I'm not afraid of tomorrow cos I've seen yesterday

Hi the film I love was Ghost ~ oh what a romantic! and of course just to show my age Dr Zhivago . Cant say that either have had an impact on my life but the most recent film Ive watched that was thought provoking was Kite Runner. I have also read the book.
:D

One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Jack Nicholson was absolutely brilliant. He pretended to be absolutely mad and in the end he was.

The Shawshank Redemption - if the character played by Tim Robbins (can't remember his name!) can live through all that and survive with his spirit intact, well anything I might face is piddling by comparison.

Oh, and Snowhite - I have never taken any shiny apples from any ugly old crones.:)

Monster, about Eileen Warnok (spl)

I'd seen a couple of documentaries about her on death row and then watched the film which was harrowing to say the least and I thought Charlise Theron was really brilliant in it. I thought about that film for ages after watching it.
