Can anyone tell me if my (portugeuse Voda) mobile phone will work in Hurghada ?? It did work in Cairo but died in Luxor. (I bought a new one for 99 l.e. but gave it away when I left.) Thankyou --- :) :)

Is it triband, if ts triband it should work anywhere?

Don't think you need tri-band for it to work in Egypt,i have had everything out there from basic to quite high tech and all have come from the UK and as long as they are unlocked they should work with egyptian sim no probs or at least mine have. :)

You are probably right but ive had a triband for years cos of mi gadding about and it was all i could think of ;)

I may be wrong but think you only need tri-band for America or Canada :?

Thankyou :D -cant be unblocked, only cheap phone, they get broken with me. So I will buy another - I loved my Egyptian phone, so LOUD - lovely----

Jayway even cheap phones can be unblocked and you can even have them unblocked in egypt. :)

Yep u r right again, i remember now, thats why i got my triband in the first place for the USA, oh god its mi age ;)

Jayway, you can buy a cheap Vodafone mobile from the Vodafone shop for only LE165. Works fine. You can also get a Nokia from a Nokia shop for around LE200
