Whisky Steaks

Post by Karenh »

Ill try this ~ it was originally my own concoction and most people seem to enjoy it or leave my house drunk afterwards!

Steaks (2 or more)
Whiskey ( a large amount)
Extra Thick Double Cream
Red Onions (white will also do!)
Mushrooms
small amount of mixed afterward
I use spray olive oil for frying (as im on a diet ~ he he)

Marinate the steaks in whisky for 24 hours prior to cooking

Chop the onions and mushrooms, lightly fry in the pan, set aside when onions are transparent
Put the steaks into the pan and seal on both sides, add back the onioins, mushrooms and all the whiskey that the steaks were in overnight. At this point I usually add a little more whiskey and a little of the oxo . As soon as the steaks are cooked remove from pan and put onto warm plates along with your veg or salad or chips etc . Then add some cream and stir well as heating up the sauce till fairly thick. pour over steak (hic hic!) Serve ~ stand well back!

:bye:

Hows this for afters

1/2 cantaloupe melon ~ scoop out the seeds etc in the middle replace with sliced strawberries and kiwi fruit, pour over some Cointreau & put in the fridge for around an hour before the meal ~ When ready to serve if necessary put some more Cointreau over the fruit.
