Who stole the day?

Post by FABlux »

I have heard the expression that Egypt is a time thief but it is 5.15 & the day has gone. I was up at a reasonable hour 9.30  decided to have a good clean through, after talking to my Mum in the UK, haven't done it though & it's now 5.15.

Where the hell did my day go??????

Went shopping for some veg & a new pedestal fan, we put it together & its great :D made lunch, did some Arabic lesson  prepared a tagine for tonight, put yesterdays washing away, did some cross stitch & its 5.15 :? :? :? :?

I know what you mean Fran.
My Mums video recorder broke yesterday so I got up bright and early and went to buy her a new one. Easier said than done as not many shops stock them now.
I asked her if she wanted my spare dvd recorder but she just wants something to show her videos on so that was no good.

Anyway after visiting the Co-op, Currys, Dixons and a few smaller shops who were all out of stock, I ended up at Argos who were also out of stock but informed me they had one at Meadowhall in Sheffield.
Off to Sheffield I went and after queing for an hour and finally finding somewhere to park, she is now the proud owner of a new video recorder.

I'm just wondering where the last 7 hours went

Similar day for me :) Got up rather late at about 9 am, felt a bit crap with a sore throat. Sat down to read the paper with a coffee, sucked a whole packet of 'Lockets' throat felt better. Had some Tesco's Kentucky fried at lunch time, felt even better :) "Shall we get some packing done?" says Mrs H, so we started. At 5 pm I sat down thinking, where did the day go? I am still jumping up and putting something in the bags that I think we have forgotten, adaptor plug, MP3 player, oh some spare headphones, oops, I nearly forgot my glasses, spare camera batteries, must remember that bloody Aero out of the fridge, oh sod it! I have had enough for today, it's 9 pm :? time for a beer :P

My day was spent nursing a hangover after a particularly late night!

So, I've done bugger all really, caught up with a couple of things I'd video'd and thats about it today, hoping to be far more productive tomorrow.!:)

Thank you all :bl: Feel much better and far less guilty about a missing day :D

I'm sure the video was greatly appreciated Andy, Joan is the same, we gave her our DVD player but she only uses the old video still

Today I have finally cleaned both bedrooms and the lounge from top to bottom. :D

Is there an easy way to clean cane furniture? I stuck mine in the bath & hosed them off with the shower  That worked :) & took a lot less time than wiping each rung over, hope it hasn't damaged them though :urm:

I suspect that Goddess would have used the bum squirter. She seems to find all sorts of unusual uses other for what it was intended

I spent today having a massage (frozen shoulder apparently, very painful anyway) then checking and typing out the quiz questions for tomorrow night. It's 6.30 now, I'm sure I came in after lunch??? have I really spent 5 hours on the computer???? Think I'd rather be washing furniture at home.
