Tuna & Prawn with Puff Pastry Topping.

Post by Semsema »

Although I wasn't going to do any baking yesterday, (my one day off), I thought I would make some pies.

Bought a bag of prawns and off I went. Stupidly i didn't think to check whether they were deveined.

It took me over an hour to devein the damned things. What a disgusting job that is.

I only hope these pies are worth it! Will let you know tomorrow as we are having them for dinner tonight.

What cookery preparation do you hate?

Yum Yum! Sounds lovely! Is there any kind of sauce on the tuna and prawn bit??

I'm right there with you on the prawn deveining thing. we normally buy whole prawns and the ripping the head off, deshelling and deveining all with them tentacles and legs poking me is sometimes more than I can bear.

A plain white sauce with a teaspoon of colman's dry mustard to pep it up a bit.

they were delicious by the way and worth the preparation.

I have a VERY glamorous cousin whose house was pristine. Immaculately clean, never a thing out of place.

One Christmas her little girl was given a toy cooker with miniature pansetc. Isobel started turning the knobs and putting the pans on top of the cooker. Her mother was horrified and demanded to know who had shown her how to do that! Her own cooker had never been used.

Do you really hate cooking Hurghada Lady?

It's not that I hate it, it's just nothing ever goes right. I have set fire to a kitchen and blown another one up, which was brand new, and as you know already completely blocked the sink with my pastry. It's safer to keep out! Just don't think I will ever be a proper woman
