Dog or Cat
Im definately a cat lover always had one, they just want food, water and give you lots of fun and love in return...
Dogs for me!
When I was little my next door neighbour had a monster of a cat - which I think scarred me mentally for life! Mittens the monster used to stalk up and down and lash out at anything that moved. I for one was relieved when Mittens passed on.
Then my best friend got a Persian cat. I secretly think it was Mittens reincarnated - it used to sit and stare at you and give you filthy looks - then you'd see it's tail swish and you knew to jump fast before it did a flying leap and latched onto your throat.
On saying that though - one of my Dogs also has the epithet "Madame Eeevil"
Maybe the problem is me!

My son has two cats, one is really lovely and lets you pick it up and fuss it, the other is a real swine It will purposely sit on the back of an arm chair behind your head, then when you least expect it, it sticks its claws into your head We have a cat, she is lovely to look at but she is a loner, demands instant attention and food then snubs you if you try to stroke her. My real preference is a dog, they never fall out with you or hold a grudge (unlike our cat) and are always glad to see you.

I much prefer dogs ~ my lst one was a standard poodle called Satan! He was great, but when I met my now husband he had a cat who was very independant until he a neighbour who has now moved away decided to drop kick him over the 6ft fence ~ he ended up with three legs but turned into a lovely cuddly cat!
A day without laughter is a day wasted!

I love Cats my last cat ( sadly he died ) was like a kid, some nights he would stand at the end of the bed and scream at me to tell me he has seen a gecko on the ceiling and he wanted it. He used to come to bed and snuggle up to me then gently bite my finger and leave my finger in between his teeth while he went to sleep
Cats for me. I grew up with having pet cats and my son and I got his first cat from ACE in Luxor as his 6th birthday present. My son called him Dash (after the boy in "The Incredibles") and he is just delightful. He loves my son and shouts when he sees him and is so affectionate. Wish I had had such a loving cat when I was my son's age.
Cats every time
Time spent with cats is time never wasted
These are some very good reasons why:
A cat's eyes are windows enabling us to see into another world." - Irish Legend
"Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this." -- Anonymous
Dogs come when they're called; cats take a message and get back to you later
"There are two means of refuge from the miseries of life: music and cats." -- Albert Schweitzer
"My husband said it was him or the cat... I miss him sometimes." Unknown
A cat sleeping on your bed is a far more pleasant companion than a ninety-pound Labrador with bad breath. Furthermore, cats do not snore or break wind.
Monger Burdock
"A dog, I have always said, is prose; a cat is a poem."
"The cat is nature's beauty." --French proverb
But the best reason of all
I love cats because I love my home and little by little they become its visible soul." --Jean Cocteau

This is really tough and then the photo's at the end, argh !
I always was brought up around dog's, my cindy was the best, so well behaved.
Then i kindly helped a friend and took his cat Claudia, she was ace too !
Cat's are very independent and very loving, when they want to be!
Dog's they are loving too and you can have a rough play with them, without being clawed to death!
Claudia used to wake me up very early in the morning sat on my naked chest padding with her claws but only enough to wake me and not hurt.
I can't make this decision, not now anyway, can anyine help me decide?

I love all animals and would fill the house and garden with every animal I could get my hands on.
I had a Standard Poodle Oscar, he was lovely, very well behaved and very loving, he was my baby.
Now I have two Dalmatians, Jack & Daniel, Jack is the Devil of Dahar and the older of the two by a couple of months, he is so very naughty and Daniel is now watching everything Jack does and tries to copy, so now double trouble, I love them to bit's. I would like a cat, but Daniel is having none of it. So for me it has to be dogs.

I have always loved and had cats, when we came to Luxor Oct 07 we left ours with my Mum, when we went back to the UK Apr 08 I wheezed every time he sat on my lap, or got too close to me
We now have a dog outside who guards the camels (& now our car ) he is a typical Egyptian white dog but he is absolutely lovely, with the most wonderful nature & I can stroke and fuss him without wheezing, he has actually converted me to dogs for the first time
He is also a very useful dustbin I put a kilo of mince on to cook & forgot it today, he didn't complain about the burnt half kilo at all

Best to all,
Scott
What does a Karelian Bear Dog look like Scott?
I like a Mastiff but not sure which one it is, it is very big with longish ears and a sad face.
