NILE HOSPITAL

Post by Semsema »

Both Mr. C and I are very impressed with the Doctors, Professor and Nursing Staff who looked after him during his recent stay there. His only gripe was the bed!

He goes back this Friday for another scan and more blood tests, we are hoping the DVT is shrinking. His arm is still twice its normal size with veins standing out like pieces of rope.

Think sunlounger mattress. Mr. C has no meat on his bones so where the bed can be moved in 3 parts, each part dug into him. Bless!!!!!

I've seen quite a few hospital beds that the matresses looked really thin!

Hope Mr C gets better soon. :)

Hope he gets better soon. I only stayed in there for one day and i know what you are saying about the matress but i think sun loungers have thicker ones. Great hospital and staff.

I know exactly what you mean about the beds. There was a big metal pole that ran along the middle of my bed and I ended up having to put a pillow under my back.

What I didn't realise (until the day I was going home) was that the other bed in my room, that my husband was usually sprawled out on, had a much thicker mattress and was much more comfortable. Just my luck!

Believe me Mairsy I did consider 'appropriating' the other mattress and putting it on top of Mr. C's one. As I had already taken the pillow from the spare bed I thought it better not to push my luck.

His bloods on Friday were not good, so we are going back again this week to get checked again. Swelling gradually going down but he is now bored with not being allowed todo anything! Is there anything worse than a man who is bored?

Hope things get a little better for him and the blood tests results improve. As you say a man bored is like a caged lion and there isnt much you can keep him occupied with.
