After having dug to a depth of 10 meters last year, Scottish scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.
      
Not to be outdone by the Scots, in the weeks that followed English scientists dug to a depth of 20 meters and shortly after headlines in the London newspapers read: "English archaeologists have found traces of 200 year old copper wire and have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the Scots."
      
One week later "The Western Mail," a Valleys Welsh newspaper reported the following: "After digging as deep as 30 meters in peat bog near Tonypandy, Dai Digger Davies, a self taught archaeologist and eminent worrier of sheep, reported that he found absolutely nothing.  Taffy has therefore concluded that 300 years ago Wales had already gone wireless."

Got another one -

3 dead bodies turn up at the mortuary, all with very big smiles on
their faces.  The coroner calls the police to tell them what has happened. "1st body: Frenchman 60, died of heart failure while making love to his mistress - hence the enormous smile Inspector" says the Coroner.

"2nd body: "Scotsman 25, won a thousand pounds on the lottery spent it it all on whisky - died of alcohol poisoning, hence the smile."

The Inspector asked, "What of the third body?" "Ah," says the coroner. "This is the most unusual one - Welshman from the Valleys only 30, struck by lightning."

"Why is he smiling then?" inquires the Inspector "Thought he was having his picture taken.
