Hi, Christine I do indeed enjoy a pint of 'real' ale. Am I correct in thinking that you live near the Sheherds Neame Brewery with your mention of Bishop's Finger Ale? They also brew Spitfire beer named in memory of Reginal Mitchell the designer of the famous WWII fighter aircraft, I sometimes pass the house where he was born on my many walks.
I live in Hampshire Horus, im talking about the Horndean Breweries.
Ive heard of Spitfire though, i often get some real ale in around Christmas time when i get my annual drunken visits from my 2 daft brothers, who both enjoy Real Ale, ive even had the chance to buy it direct but i must say that its not always a good plan to do that, it stinks over there, and im sure you could get pickled on the fumes!!

I have just remembered that the Horndean Brewery is owned and run by Gales Ales.
No idea why that suddenly came into my head it just did.
There was talk a year or so back of the brewery closing, now i dont know if it did or not yet( i havent been there in quite a while) but that would be a sad day.
