Violets.
If I think about it really hard I can almost remember what they tasted like!
Cola Cubes in a paper bag.
And those strawberry milkshake bottles that used to be in a woolies pick n mix.
Oooh! And Strawberry laces.
and a chubabchub lollipop - but only the cola or cherry flavour.

Woo Hoo!!!!! I've got a signature!
Gosh! They still sell Caramac??
There used to be a vending machine in the sports centre, and everytime I'd come out of that changing room that Caramac would be staring me right in the face. And Bacon flavour Wheatos!
I loved Dib dabs! Never liked that other one though that was in a tube and had the liquoprice as the dibber thing.

Yep I rember frozen jubblies, Black jacks that made your tounge blackish purple and fruit salads. In Aberdeen we used to buy lucky tatties ~ hard candy with a little plastic toy in them covered with a brown powde type coating ~ they were nice but you had to be careful not to sallow the gift!
A day without laughter is a day wasted!

Karen I'm reassured.... I didn't think anyone else was as old as me on this forum!!
I grew up in London and we didn't get lucky tatties.... but we did get lucky bags..... 3 old pence bought you a bag with some chalky sweeties and a little plastic toy.... I loved lucky bags!!
I also loved the chalky swizzels lollies and refreshers.
Also... the penny "Bubbly" big bubble gums.... I wasn't allowed them so I had to sneak one when mum wasn't around!!
Aaaaahhhhhh..... happy days!!!

Does anybody remember the candy lolly pops shaped like a frying pan, the melted candy was put into little round shaped tin foil baking trays with a icicle stick stuck up the middle....they were yummy.......not sure it may have been a local thing here
I remember all those Blackjack and Fruit Salad sweets, like you Goddess, never liked the sherbet thing with the liquorice in it and so didn’t eat Blackjack, bur Fruit Salads, YUM!
Susue, got a funny story about a Curly Wurly which I also loved and managed to find some a while ago which lead to me getting really embarrased. Was chairing a meeting at work about six months ago, big serious thing and had my bag on the table prior to it all getting under way. 3 of my colleagues were in attendance and all are a lot older than me so its mostly a pain getting them to take me seriously at the best of times
Anyway, we were getting ready for this disciplinary and I pulled my file out of my bag. Three of the things got pulled out too and my colleagues were in hysterics that I carried them in my bag along with this restricted file and other official notices. W
ell my excuse was that, hey, you can never find the damn things and saw them at my local newsagent that morning so I had to buy three!
I still get emails addressing me as Curly to this day

Chipsticks!! Yum Yum!
(Why on earth do I keep coming back and looking at this topic?? It just makes me really peed off when I have to settle for a bag of Lays and a nasty cola lollipop with bubble gum in the middle)
But anyway!
One thing I'd forgotten about til I was in Ireland ....... Dandelion and Burdock! Used to love that stuff and have fond memories of a favourite Uncle bringing a glass bottle of it every week when he came for his Sunday Lunch. Then he'd pick up the old bottles and take them back with him to get his deposit back off the next lot.
