Of course you can still get Black Jacks   and only a complete muppet would be offended by a sweet, bloody hell!

Well I have kids and I can announce that you can still get black jacks and fruit salads and you can even get extra large black jack chews but they are not as nice as the smallers ones.
Are n't treats more or less the same as minstrels?
Old Jamaica choc I sued to love that.
Don't you have any of those old fashioned sweet shops near you? You can get all the old favourite there but they cost so much more!!! There's even a retro sweet web site!

I like
sherbert pips
cola drops
pineapple chunks
rhubarb and custard
sherbet lemons
toffee bonbons
any sorts of toffee
pink shrimps
banana sweets

Can't stand those swizzles sweets or flying saucers.
What about cherry lips? I used to love those but got some recently and they tasted like soap. And as for those violet sweets ... gross

I want some sweets now!!!
got a shop in my town center ,but maybe its is boring but at the time when me was a weeeeee little lassy i used to love saving them up omg it was heaven pinched a load off the floor .
Yes i love the Ole Jamican rum chocolate loved it not seen it about in donkeys years .

I used to love the outside of flying saucers... but the inside would make me screw my face up.....
so I'd break them in half and give my brother the inside!

At our local sweetie shop you used to be able to get a "scooby doo"... an ice cream cornet with an ice-lolly stuck in upside down.....
and it was fourpence!!

I remember when Smiths were the only crisps... with the little blue salt bag....
Then Golden Wonder came out... and they did...CHEESE AND ONION FLAVOUR!!!!

Cheese and onion crisps and a bottle of Tizer....... heaven!!! Was my Saturday treat when I was a kid!!!

Tizer

Post by Claire »

I love Tizer but they 've changed the taste and tried to put fruit in it!!!!
And ahve you ahd jelly tots or even fruit gums recently. The taste of those have changed since they put in 'real fruit juice' and drastically cut the sugar content! Sorry but the new healthy jelly tots are really sour. Bring back the artifical flavours!!!! LOL

Treat's are now M&M's aren't they? We can buy them here, my husband brings me the peanut M&M's 10 at a time..............and I eat them ten at a time!!!!!

I adored Old Jamaica Rum Chocolate, the closest now I can think of is Thorntons Rum Truffle, do they still do the Rum Truffle?

Fry's Mint Chocolate Creams were another favourite.

I used to go to the school tuck shop in break and buy Potato Puffs and Breakaway. I am still looking for Potato Puffs now if anyone has seen them anywhere. I think Kwik Save used to sell them just before I moved out here, but everyone I ask they say they can't find them!

I used to get a shilling pocket money every week which I would change all to ha'pennies to fill my little purse to bulging point. I would strut around to my friend Steven Mee to show him I was rich and then we would go to the corner shop to buy sweets. When I was six, we bought our sweets then went to the wreck climbed a tree to eat them, unfortunately our friendship ended there, when he asked me if I would show him my "Mary", I promptly pushed him out of the tree and never spoke to him again!
