The original Andy Pandy with Annette Mills. Shirley Abicare (
sp) and her blasted Zither. The Coronation. And, waiting for the BBC Television Service from Alexandra Palace to start at 6 pm. It closed down again at, I think 10 pm in the early days.
(I'm not all that old.

Actually I can remember Black and White Minstrel Show, I used to watch it when I stayed with my Grandma and Grandad, my Grandma used to love it, so I had no choice. I also remember Billy Cotton, Grandma again! But I don't remember Ready, Steady, Go????

I had forgotten about Jimmy Clitheroe.
Can anyone please tell me why I can remember all the words to songs when I hear them playing on the T.V./Radio from way back when, but I find it difficult to remember what I had to eat yesterday.
Is it selective memory or what?
What about Val Doonican on a Saturday night with his infamous sweaters?
Alma Cogan, Russ Conway (piano player - my mother used to take her rollers out before he came on!).
