Re: WEATHER REPORT FROM ALGARVE, PORTUGAL.
JANUARY 9, 2016. A year ago I started this. Today we have had 2 wet weeks, light showers everyday. EVERYTHING is green, skimmed the weeds, garden flourishing, tangerines are delicious, bit late this year. Lowest morning temp has been 10, highest daytime 22 and humidity always over 80 ( which is why I have hibernated) Albufeira flooded twice thanks to council stupidity - pipe a river ?? didnt work, fools.

Re: WEATHER REPORT FROM ALGARVE, PORTUGAL.
Sunday 17th, have been lucky to get the sun for a few hours midday. Very damp this year, not good for me but good for the garden. Staying away from people, germy lot. Getting grumpy with the lack of sunshine.

Such a difference from last year, hopefully the real sun will return soon as everything is wet, with showers and humidity. Onions are NOT keeping well,

February, very changeable. One day shorts, next day winter coat. Eating well from the garden, hens laying. Today very cold wind, washing dries quickly. Logpile of one and a half tons has disappeared.

March. Very few fava, peas but a million one and a half metre high daisies. Short on wildflowers this year. Garden is planted but due to the cold winds, 10* mornings, then 25 midday, nothing is growing very fast. Not much rain, a few thunderstorms. Lettuce is growing well in cut down water bottles. Another ton of logs, thats two and a half this year.

28 today, about time too. Wildflowers out now, and the garden has to be watered, not enough rain. Tomato and onion in, lettuce flourishing in their mini stufas. Peas producing at last.

April. NOT a nice month, rain, cold wind then hot days . Veg still in the waterbottles, growing well. The lettuce are bug free and tall with good hearts, best ever. Freezer full of peas, ate the favas. Have also frozen orange, tangerine, lemon juices. Now is nespera time but as the winds so cold have not done them for juice. Logfire still on.

Re: WEATHER REPORT FROM ALGARVE, PORTUGAL.
MAY. Very few flies, have seen no wasps. Garden is slower this year, hardly anything to eat (apart from frozen beans and peas) so I have made soups from the lettuce, cabbage and spinach with herbs and spices. The weather is hot, 28 all week, today clouds appeared so it was a good ride - only 22 and breezy. Back using bike again, (HOORAY) who would have thought a ripped tendon would take nearly a year to heal. . . . . . Oranges and tangerines, just done the last lot, delicious.

Getting very dry, the land is cracked so fell over a stringy weed -ouch. Hayfever set in, must sneeze a hundred times a day. Soon will give up on the giving up and buy some decent small cigars again, the only cure that has ever worked. Very grumpy.

Re: WEATHER REPORT FROM ALGARVE, PORTUGAL.
Its MAY, and its pouring with rain. What is happening here, climate change ? I actually lit the fire last night and had a dish of my green soup. Not a good lookout for farmers with crops getting flattened. My apple tree, the proud bearer of 3 apples last year is now full of blossom ! Have cue the size of biros, toms the size of small apples. Lots of lettuce in bottles.

Re: WEATHER REPORT FROM ALGARVE, PORTUGAL.
Looking back at last year, now have the same weather, cloudy and rain up country, warm enough tho. Everything is late this year, good job the freezer is full-ish! I have the mother of all head colds and a really disgusting cough, goddam tourists in the new opening pet store. My mistake.

Re: WEATHER REPORT FROM ALGARVE, PORTUGAL.
Still hacking cough and sneezing. Garden good, a few tomato at last. No pomegranit, figs etc, different than last year. This year will be hundreds of peppers, to be grilled skinned and packed in margarine tubs, then bagged. Flora tubs from a baker friend who has been dead for ten years now, plastic marvels ! Onions drying. Four kilo of green soup made from lettuce, cabbage, sage, onion and herbs. single portions in freezer. Few flies and wasps.

July. This year is pepper year, never seen over 20 on one plant before. We have 4 days of heat warnings and complete cloud cover. humidity gone from 24 to 88 and windy too. Tomatoes are very good. cues too. Few pomegranit, carob, fields turning to dust.
