aji no moto (and this is not the right spelling) is a flavour enhancer, its namne is motasium glutmate (spelling ?) the chiniese call it magic powder, and use it in most if not all of their cooking.

aji is monosodium glutamate - best avoided health wise - no nutritional benefit at all.
Also, might it be Sichuan sauce - as used in Sichuan cooking? Try Googling that - you might have more luck.

This is my Sichuan Sauce
Cup soy sauce, one cup water, bring to boil with one star anise in it then leave to infuse like tea for 10 mins.
Then take 2 tablespoon sesame oil, and one tablespoon veg oil
a 1" grated cube of fresh ginger
2 grated cloves garlic
I finely sliced chilli ( remove seeds )
and fry very slowly for about 1 minute and don't let it go brown!
Add this to the soy and anise mixture and add teasp sugar, 1/3rd teasp salt, 1/2 teasp ground black pepper.
Then add tablespoon of smooth peanut butter and simmer gently till it thickens.
Voila
