Do men carry bags in Egypt?
It just seems from a lot of the posts that some form of container is essential to keep water bottles, empty bottles (for juice) etc.

As a general rule no they dont , but you can get cool bags that u clip to your belt, and your wallet is safe enough in your pocket.
Most egyptain men i know carry mobile and cigs in thier hands the rest of anything they need is in thier pockets or clipped to thier belts.

And dont forget Lee that as you aclimatise you will not need to be buying so much water, and will drink a little less than you did at the start.
You may also find yourself able to drink from the tap as i do when in luxor, the water dosent affect my stomach at all so im lucky i can either buy bottled or use thiers.

Yeah but depending where you are some of the water just tastes so gross. I was n't keen on Hurghada tap water for taste. Cairo water is better although you can taste the chlorine.
As for big bags, I don't like them too big as I would just leave in even more junk and then would never find anything! I get smaller bags, overload them so the zips break and then I have to get another!!!
Talking of bags I just had two bags as presents from my Egyptian sister in law! I don't think I will be using them here in the UK!!!! But I might use them in Egypt! I bought a new bag when I went to Egypt, really flashy not like the usual ones I use and guess what my Sister in Law liked it so much I gave it to her! Now she's given me two of hers back as a present!

Big bags are really in in the UK at the moment, big enough to fit 6 bottles of red and a couple of stolen pint glasses at least

My big purse,
A pink umbrella
Some sugar-free mints,
A pepper-spray,
keys and a little pink swiss army knife,
My phone,
2 tickets to this weekend's rodeo,

Big bags all the way! Although for a night out, I do love my clutches.
But, I’m annoyed at one of my bags…
Yesterday it was torrential rain
where I am so there I am standing at the bus stop and the rain slows. So I put my brolly into its sleeve thing as I am stood under a shelter.
The bus comes and stops half a mile away
so I walk up when the rain starts again. And heavy. So I get out the brolly, new by the way and tuck the sleeve thing into my bag. Now where the hell has that damn sleeve thing gone??
Searched my bag 3 times and was changing bags anyway to go with what I am wearing for work today, so everything got moved about but that damn sleeve is missing!!!!

You're right about the brolly sleeves, NG.... I'm sure that as soon as we take them off, an invisible monster sneaks out of nowhere and eats them!!
I don't think I own an umbrella with a sleeve any more!!

Thing is though, the brolly think this is an excuse to then bend and break in odd places!
