You want some recommendations for something to read?
I've chanced upon some mystery novels from Iceland of all places! Brrrrrr, if you want to cool yourself off during a long hot summer in Egypt, then these might be for you. And not just one author but several from Iceland and other nice frosty parts of Northern Europe.

I read about murder most foul and the fouler the better, John Connelly, Michael Connelly( no relation) Tess Gerritsen, James Paterson, Faye and Johnathan Kellerman, Mo Hayder.
For very light relief i fall back on my Agatha Christie collection.
Oh one i forgot was michael Marshall very good

Ian Rankin and Barbara Nadel are 2 favorites also . . . have managed to plow through most of what has already been published . . . and with Nadel I had to order used books from the UK because some hadn't been released in the States.

Ive heard of Rankin but not Nadel, what does she write about?
I find Ian rankin a little slow , i like someone at least one, to be dead by chapter 2 or 3

As you liked" Little House on the Prarie" you may like Anne McCaffrey stories like" The Dragons of Pern "and all the other ones about Pern - theres no sex and violence, just very good different stories - -

The Barbara Nadel books that I've read take place in Turkey . . . mainly Istanbul . . . but they have been know to wander around the countryside at times. If you think Rankin is slow, maybe you will like these better, lol . . . they start out with a murder usually . . . and some very unusual ones at times! They also bring in different social issues, religious issues, illegal immigration issues, etc . . . even an older woman/younger man relationship, hehe!!!
Here's a link to the as-yet-to-be-released "River of the Dead" . . .
