Egypt's tourism earnings, a key source of foreign exchange, dipped just 2.1 percent last year thanks to an upswing in Russian and British arrivals and may rise significantly in 2010, the tourism minister said on Monday.

Don't we just, walked down to Sekala square for bulbs the other night and almost half the street was closed, very bizzare cos last April when I was here, it was buzzing!

Maybe the high prices of flights and package holidays are holding people back ~ I was looking last night and flights still seem quite high £320 to £350

Yeah flights are hanging around the £3-400 mark for some reason
Friends who were intending to come out are citing this as a drawback but as I've said to them, if they go to Europe for 2 weeks the lfights are free but it will cost them £1000 each to eat etc. In Egypt it'll cost them £400 for a flight then about £2-300 for 2 weeks to eat and do trips and stuff.

So true and i certainley feel its worth the cash but being scottish im still looking for good prices i think the lowest was £318 last night
