From 7.30 this morning most of portsmouth had a nearly all day power cut, with poor ouutage even now !!
There was apparently a fire in a substation late last night pulling out at least 47,000 homes including mine and the one i was attempting to work in
i have 8 people in that house all who have learning dissability now you try telling them that NO the washing machine will NOT work without leccy, as i tried to tell WB after he had got all stressed for the fifth time by lunch time when he couldnt get his laundry started
And i could not persuade LD that the kettle just would not boil no matter how long she stood there and watched it and waited for the water to heat up!!
I could not tell RN and SW why they could not have a shower (its run by Leccy) as they just didnt understand why not, so a very disorderly line formed outside the shower room by 8.45
We decided that we should sweep the floors the old fashioned way with brooms and then wash em!!
We couldnt use the dishwasher which caused even more confusion for them as did the microwave!!!
And then just to top it all off my mobile ran out of charge at which point, short of applying for any other job on the planet i persuaded em all to come out to the park with me for a picnic lunch :Phew:
So nine of us trooped off with food bags cool bags , house mobile phone, and gave up on the power cut
And now we are all tired , a bit burned , forgot the sunscreen, full of crap from our picnic, weve all got gassy bellies from all the cold fizzy and we dont care
I finally got off shift an hour and a half later than i should have, bloody iceland is shut so is the cashpoint (still)
You have to bend ya self in hal to get yaself under the entry closure to get in Tesco , cos the silly sods have tried force the door up to open the store and short circiuted thier entry system, apart from that its been a normal day.................. aaaagh !!!!
But all leccy kind of back on now, ish we think
