How do you tell a very good and dear old friend that she has the worst halitosis in the world.... without offending her????

She and her husband (yes.... husband!!) are staying with us....
It's going to be a verrrrry long 2 weeks!!!!! :hot:

Oh dear Sue, not an easy job, but surely she must have had it mentioned if its so bad, not least by her husband??
If you think not then just tell her gently that youve noticed it and that maybe she needs a visit to the dentist or pharmacy, oh how awkward hon.
If it were me suffering with it i think i would rather someone close to me told me than a stranger :)

Ooh, difficult! What about approaching the husband? Or pretending you have a sore throat and express concern your breath is bad or maybe you have a dental problem and plan to seek treatment? :worry:

Mr M and I were discussing it yesterday..... there's probably no point in saying anything while she's here..... she can't really do anything about it!! :(

And....as for after she's gone home...... there won't be any invitations forthcoming..... keeping in touch online seems like a really good idea!!!

What I can't understand..... how does hubby tolerate it!!???

Ask him if he likes your perfume when you have none on - - he probably has lost his sense of smell - -So its up to you, Susue - sorry - -

Come out with something like " what have you eaten today, your breath smell really bad, is mine bad too?" as tho it's one off thing, or after you've all eaten curry, say it. If you pretend you think yours is as bad it maybe easier, and offer breath freshener spray or something. I don't envy you the task. Good luck :-)

Yep..... it was so nice waking up this morning and realising they're not here!!

On a serious note...... isn't it strange how people change!?
When we were young.....she was vivacious, a lot of fun, and loved life.... we had loads of fun in our misspent youth.....

Now... she finds fault with everything, doesn't want to do anything or go anywhere, is a skinflint (even mean about money with her husband!) and is totally self-centred!!

It was really hard keeping a positive face these last 2 weeks...

If I never see them again..... it'll be too soon!!!

OK.... I've had my rant now.... and no, she doesn't read this forum... and I never addressed the halitosis issue..... I'll never see her again, so it's not my problem!!!
