Mozzies and OFF spray

( I am double posting this, it is on the blue forum as well)

Was in Luxor now in september and as there were no mozzies I did not use OFF spray.

Actually I did not see any mozzies but i promise you I felt them. Got 15 bites on one foot. NO, not leg, but foot.... and on the knees, shoulders and back .

The worst part is the stings are still very red... very ugly marks and some of them I have scratched hole on in my sleep...

never again not using OFF! Horrible to be dependent on that spray every time I leave the house but don't have any other good solutions...

The spray doesn't work for me. I don't usually get bitten but one night sitting on the balcony I was getting bitten alive, kept spraying 'off' on every exposed piece of flesh but they seemed to like the taste!!

My son is a magnet for mossies they hone in on him relentlessly...poor thing, when he went to Thailand he was bitten to death and the bites became infected he was on anit biotics for weeks after.

Off really doesn't taste nice - and can really put a damper on a romantic evening.

Enough said.

I posted a few months ago on the blue side that I never get bitten because I put jiff lemon or fresh lemon on exposed skin.
Once on it isn't sticky and you don't smell like a lemon.

I think the best stuff is Autan, keeps the little boggers away :)

Yep - and that stuff tastes like the insides of a damp cardboard box with a distinctly icky aftertaste.

Is Autan the same stuff as Jungle formula?

no it's better, can't say what it tastes like though. Is that another fetish of yours? tasting mozzie sprays

Autan comes in red and yellow cans and bottles :)

I think they make OFF with Skin So Soft in it now. Look for that.

No, I know where Goddess is coming from with this. I'm sure it was Autan I had in a spray can and you really had to take in a deep breath and hold it whilst spraying, because if that stuff gets into the back of your throat, you certainly know about it....and it does taste disgusting. Good for repelling mozzies though.:)

When I spray myself, my feet end up black. If my feet touch the wooden table legs while I am out I even end up with the varnish on my feet, it looks terrible.

When visiting Luxor in July/August this year I took Avon Skin So Soft (the green bottles) of dry oil ~ I always get bitten even if there is only 1 mozzie it finds me ~ but using this no bites at all. I even gave my boss the second bottle I had bought for a week in Kos and they never got bitten either although plenty of people were ~ Smells better than Autan
