I've just been reading about Safaga and one line caught my eye....
Hammerhead Sharks have been seen by early morning divers at the end of spring.
They boat crew didn't mention that before I got in the water earlier this year :oo

You'd be amazed at just what is out there in the open sea less than a mile from the reefs you are diving on!
The Red Sea has several species of shark, many of which can be seen at various locations throughout the year. Normally sharks are open ocean predators, but at times of feeding (normally dusk & dawn) then do come closer into the reefs where the fish life is. Normally they are sighted on the wall dives or offshore pinnacles where the reef is still surrounded by deep water.
In Safaga this includes sites such as Abu Kefan and Panorama Reef. I have seen grey reef sharks and hammerheads at both these sites.
You never know what is behind you haha!

Is there a mass migration of Hammerheads in the Red Sea usually around October?
I recall seeing alot of pictures on the internet showing this?
Where can we see them?
