I just posted this on L4U but thought it might be of interest to members here
The Ptolemies through plexi-glass
The committee to establish Egypt's proposed underwater museum will have its first meeting next month in Alexandria,
Nevine El-Aref reports in Al Ahram Weekly
http://weekly.ahram.org.eg/2008/915/heritage.htm
This is a long article so I cannot post it all here but it is well worth a read because it describes a great deal of the extensive excavations and discoveries that have taken place in the sea off Alexandria.
I don't know how much reality the project has with Zahi Hawass describing it as a "beautiful dream" but it would be spectacular if it ever came to fruition.
