I am now on a new project and need to think of anything to do with the era's 60's 70's 80's, anything to do with furniture, ornaments, gadgets, decor and music. Imagine you are walking into a disco or nightclub and visualise the room, decor and music, describe what you see!

I am thinking in the lines of, bright psychedelic, VW Beatle car with flowers painted on, lava lamps, big glass mirror balls, Rose Royce Car Wash, Groovy Kinda Love not sure if that was the Tremeloes, Motown what else?

"Groovy kind of love" was released in 1966 and sung by 'The Mindbenders' who often performed as 'Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders' 'The Tremeloes' were more famous for songs such as 'Silence is Golden' and they were also a group that had a lead singer and became known as 'Brian Poole & The Tremeloes' with hits such as 'Twist & Shout' & 'Do You Love Me' Incidently as their version of Twist & Shout was released as a single whereas the Beatles version was on an EP, they are credited with the highest chart hit for this record.
Think: Winkle Picker shoes, smart Italian style suits with drainpipe trousers, narrow lapels and thin ties. Rockers with leather jackets and motorbikes and later Mods with scooter and suits. Bouffant, Beehive & Pixi hairstyles for the girls and don't forget mini Skirts, this fashion style meant all the girls now had to wear tights instead of stockings & suspenders bit of a downer that one, think I will stop recollecting now

The 70's were glamrock (The Sweet - Blockbuster; Slade - Mamma we're all Crazy now; David Bowie (take your pick), Mud - Tiger Feet but I don't want to think about Gary Glitter at all!!) and, later, punk (Sex Pistol - Anarchy in the UK, The Clash - London Calling; The Buzzcocks - Ever fallen in love with Someone; The Stranglers - Peaches). Then there was Twotone and Ska. The 80's were new romantics with all the pirate/swashbuckling clothes (love that look!) Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Depeche Mode, The Cure (not much changed now just a little less depressed), Flock of Seagulls (remember the haircut!).. I think I'll have a cuppa now and just wallow in nostalgia for a bit!!

Gosh HL, which era? They were all so different. 60s started out here as more folk and romantic/Mo town/Beach Boys, then British invasion/Carnaby Street/Twiggy/Ziggy Stardust/Rolling Stones and psychedelic/woodstock/hippies/Beatles, Beatles, Beatles as well as protest music/ 70s were Elton John (before the side show started), protest songs, Disco, Moody Blues, head music, underground music. 80s were all big hair, big costumes, shoulder pads. Can't remember any 80s groups. Was Glass Tiger 80s? I was having babies then.

How on earth do you mash up all of this together? The most interesting era I think was the late 60s with Sgt. Pepper, hippies, love beads, strange colors, Haight Ashbury, woodstock, flower power, etc. Peace out, man.

What reminds me of it, is like what everyone else has said, it would have to have plenty of glitter balls, bright colours on the walls, flower's. The music could just be a mix of all, Austin powers shagadelic baby !

Studio 51 in the states....was this around the time?
