Mr.Gaddis has just informed me that the Hurghada convoy has finished anyone can travel any time of the day alone but you have to arrive and be through the first check point before sunset or else you have to go by private convoy.I sppose if you are cutting it close and you dont think it is sunset somebody will say it is so better to get there a bit earlier i would suggest.
I have just checked with Mr.Gaddis and he has said yes it is from today 01-12-08. He had the information from the State Security direct to the embassy office this morning.

No more convoy between Luxor and Aswan and Aswan to Luxor (from 6am to 6pm) but still convoy between Aswan and Abu-Simbel.... step by step!
