Saw this in papers 2 Jan and had to share it with others:
A hotel worker tried to snatch three British children from their hotel in Egypt, their horrified families claimed last night.
The youngsters, Nicola Fayer 8, and boys Jordan Kennedy and Jake Wright, both 10 said they only escaped from the coach driver by kicking him and running off.
Police are now investigating, but the families of the youngsters claim both officers and the hotel are desperately trying to play down the incident as a misunderstanding. Nicola's 'petrified' parents Margaret and Alan have now taken her home at the end of their holiday, but the other families say they have been forced to remain in the same hotel after their rep failed to find them an alternative of similar standard.
'Terrified': Nicola Fayer and her friend Jordan Kennedy said they escaped from a coach driver by kicking him and running away
The incident took place late on Tuesday evening at the Mexicana Hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh, when the children - who became friends during their stay at the Red Sea resort - were playing hide and seek beside the swimming pool of the complex.
Jordan's mother Michele, 38, a divorced housewife, said the hotel bus driver, who is in his 50s took the trio of children into a dingy service tunnel leading to staff quarters. Miss Kennedy, from Warrington, Cheshire, said: 'He beckoned them over, picked up Nicola and took Jordan's hand...'I've since been down there and it's disgusting - full of dirty lockers and bunkbeds. He then took them outside, telling them "A taxi is coming for you".
'Jordan whispered to Nicola, "Kick him", Nicola did - and then Jordan bent his thumb back. That's how they escaped.'
