How often do you have food delivered to your home ? What are you most likely to order?

I used to get food delivered on a regular basis but unfortunately now I live in an apartment behind the new metro with no building name and no street name, impossible to give directions to. So I now have the arduous job of getting into the car and driving to the fast food places.

We are a bit too rural to get takeaways delivered :( although we used to have a very good Chinese (Cantonese style) one that used to do deliveries, then they stopped doing them altogether :(

We used to get deliveries all the time, but the Chinese beat the lot! I ordered a meal, one hour later he phoned me and said he was at the Hilton could I go and collect it from him..........I said "What part of take way and free delivery don't you understand"? He said, "Are you coming to get it"?, I said "No, if I have to come and get it I might just aswell have come to the restuarant and eaten in", "ok" he said and ended the call. Half an hour later he phoned me again and said "where are you"? I said "at the address I gave you when I ordered a TAKE AWAY "! He said " I am at the Hilton waiting for you" I told him in no uncertain terms that he had better bring it to the address given as I was not going to the Hilton in PJ's and slippers, he said ok then and ended the call. Half an hour later he called again, by this time I was getting past annoyed, he said, "where are you" I said "I am on the other phone ordering Hardees I am sure they will deliver more quickly than you", he said "ok I will wait for you".....I ended the call and phoned Hardees, ordered waited 45 minutes ate my meal when, low and behold my mobile rang again and guess who, I said "don't bother I have ordered Hardees it has arrived and I have eaten it", he said "ok, so when are you coming to the Hilton to get your Chinese", I ended the call and turned my mobile off!!! :x

Stuff the Chinese!! :x

We have used our local PizzaLand 3 times so far. Probably averages about once a month.
First two deliveries arrived in 15 minutes or so. The one last week took 40 minutes and two phone calls because the guy didn't understand my directions to where we lived! Different staff

Hee Hee! Great stuff HL! Thought it was only me that things like that happened too!

We have takeaway quite often, probably about once a week from somewhere or another. Only once did I complain that my pizza was late (I start calling again if stuff hasn't arrived within 30 minutes ;) ) 15 minutes later the pizza man arrived with a discount coupon because he'd been late! Dead chuffed I was! Pizza and discount for more pizza - couldn't ask for more!
Woo Hoo!!!!! I've got a signature!

Classic Hurghadalady!

We were in the new Metro, just got to the checkout when the electricity went off. No problem the Manager said, we will deliver in 30 minutes.

Okay i thought, is that Egyptian 30 minutes?

I got a piece of paper and made a drawing of where we live in Magawish even down to describing the Villa with the wall which had been knocked down.
Asked if it was clear and was assured it was.

30 minutes later Mr. C got a phone call. He explained again where we were and waited. Another 30 minutes passed, 'we are in Magawish, where are you'. Mr. C said he would meet them.

Turns out they were in front of the Swiss Inn so Mr. C hopped into the van and directed them to our place. We did ask if they would remember where we were for the future. Assured us they would.

I am not even going to tell you what happened the next time!

So no Home Deliveries for us. It is quicker just to go and eat in.
