That's strange
your recipe doesn't have pasta?

This is how I make mine

Pan 1
Blast 1 kg tomatoes, 5 cloves garlic, 1 small onion, teasp black pepper, 1 red chilli, teasp salt, tabspn tomato paste in a blender till smooth.
Add this to a pan with 4 tabspns olive oil and simmer gently till oil rises to the top.

Pan 2
Boil 1 cup brown lentil till soft then drain and put in a dish.

Pan 3
Fry a cup of vermicelli pasta in 3 tbspns oil till colour darkens a few shades to golden brown. Then add 2 cups water and 2 cups of washed, drained basmati rice, put lid on and steam gently till rice is cooked.

Pan 4
Take a 1/3rd pack of spaghetti and break into 2 inch pieces.
Add this to 500 grm macaroni pasta and cook till soft, then drain.

Pan 5
Slice 2 large onions thinly. Place in a plastic bag with a tabspn flour in it and shake till they are coated.
Drop clumps of this into the deep fat fryer till golden.
Remove from oil and sprinkle straight away with salt.

Assembly

Scoop a cup of the rice mix and put in a plate.
On top scoop a cup of the pasta mix.
Put a tabspn of the lentils on top of that.

Pour some of the tomato sauce over that.

Add a few cooked chick peas, then sprinkle the fried onion on top.

You can then add a little vinegar mixed with garlic and herbs on top of that.

Should resemble this

It's a great cheap filler, but I like to make it myself coz the koshari shop is miles away from me :(
