Thank you everybody for caring, I still can't come to terms with losing him, i have spent the past 10 days crying, I miss him so much. It was such a shock, he became ill within a couple of hours, of course no vets open until the morning, I just had to cuddle him until they opened. My husband took Jack while I stayed with Daniel my other Dalmatian (I was banned from taking Jack to the vets due to making him frightened of injections, so the vet said). I thought he would have been given some tablets and back home, but by 1.30pm my husband hadn't come back, I phoned him to be told that they were trying to catheterise him but had tried 12 times but couldn't get it in.
At this stage I started to panic, one hour later my husband phoned me to say that the vet was going to put him to sleep but he had said no way, you will fight for him. My husband, Spike and EgyptDiver didnt leave his side just kept pushig the vet to do anything he could to save him. Jack died at 10.05 13th May with Kidney failure, he was just 2 years old less than a month before. We have buried him outside the villa on the beach, Daniel would not eat, drink or go for his walk so have been very worried over him also. Jack was so very naughty the house is so quiet without him.
This is Jack 10 days before he died, he had just opened the kitchen cupboard and stolen his treats.

Thanks Ebikatsu, I hadn't thought of it that way, it is a blessing it was so quick.......... I just can't come to terms with it yet.Ebikatsu wrote:Oh I am so sorry.
I know how hard it is after a family pet dies. The house just doesn't seem the same again does it?..
But you still have all your memories of him to make you smile as the days pass, and be thankful his illness was sudden and not over a long period of time.
I am so sorry, a very short illness was obviously the best way for him, but much more of a shock to you. Thinking of you & Daniel.
Hope he accepts the puppies OK. They will never be a replacement for Jack, you wouldn't want them to, but hopefully they will keep you so busy you will have less time to miss him.

Oh HL
I don't know how you're coping, I'm crying here just at the thought because I love my naughty pair so much too. I bet you've been beside yourself.
I'm glad that you've put that picture up of him - the naughty boy! Fancy getting his treats out of the cupboard! What a character! You have some lovely memories of him to cherish.
Take care.
