Things for kids in Hurghada

Post by Claire »

After a last minute change of plans I think me and my family will be in Hurghada in August. I was just wondering if any of you could recommend good places and things to do with kids well young teenagers really. They will be happy on the beach and in the pool but what else can they do there? What about diving and boat trips and other trips out and about?
Any ideas? I have been to Hurghada before but many years ago and I think it has been developed quite a bit since then.
Thanks

There's loads of trips and excursions that you can book hun, depends what they want to do really but you know that diving and snorkelling is the big thing out there so there's that and numerous places you can book with.

Last time I was there we went to Mahmya Island for the day, it was total bliss, white sands, turquoise water…mmmm but they may get bored, being the ages they are.

We also went on a desert safari and round a bedouin village and that was amazing, a real insight into how people live without all the trappings of modern life.
Dignity comes not from control, but from understanding who you are and taking your rightful place in the world.

New gal is correct and you can also take fishing trips and there are many glass bottom boats that are great fun for a couple of hours.

There is a bowling alley, go kart racing, horse riding, cinema and quad bike safaris which should all appeal to teenagers.Take a taxi to El Gouna change of scenery,or Sharm El Naga where you can snorkel on the reef from the beach. :)

Wow I think that island sounds amazing and the boat trips. Getting really excited now!
We went on a glass bottomed boat in Spain but to be honest did n't see much and the sea was a bit rough so I felt sick! What are the trips in Hurgahada like?
I would be intersted in the safari thing as well!
Thanks for the sugegstions everyone!

If the sea is a bit choppy folk tend not to bother much with the glass bottom boats so they stay moored up, but if the sea is calm its wonderfull.
The sea is so clear.
What do you mean when you ask what the trips are like in Hurghada, do you mean the cost?

Are they good?

Thanks Christine. You've really answered my question. What I meant was were the trips good, ie did you see much and could it be rough! But you've told me now. But if you do know typical prices that would be good to know!

Hi Claire
i dont know the current prices as it was last year when i was last on a glass bottom boat, and then i was with an egyptian friend so we got a better deal.
Ive asked for some updated info on tours and things for kids to do and see so im sure someone will be able to price up stuff for you better than i can, have a great time.
