Don’t know if it’s the BEST bargain I have ever gotten but the other day I got 3 linen wrap dresses from the Betty Jackson designer collection at Debenhams, they were all originally £90 reduced several times, got each one for £12.60. One is teal, short sleeves and has collars, one is hot pink, sleeveless and with a little pink belt and one is purple crinkle with a silk belt and I am ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THEM!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Forgot to say - Don't think I've ever really bought a bargain in my entire life!

Seriously! Sure all the things I've bought that have been on offer have been things I could have lived without until I found out there was a discount on it.
Probably the only time I used to get a real bargain was when I used to shop in Omar Effendi ... and then you'd get to the cash point and then find out there were a ton of discounts on your chosen thing, which was nice!

Goddess, I will be coming to Alex to see Debs over there as soon as I can as I am so intrigued as to what they will or wont sell. Is it far from you?

It's about a 40 minute taxi ride away. The mall is out of town but well worth a visit.

The mall annex is scheduled to open mid Sept - but it didn't say if the shops would open then or not and I ain't holding my breath.

You might want to pop over to Cairo too, they have some great malls there too and not quite so far to go.

At least it's 40 mins from my place!
If you're in the town centre it maybe takes 15 or 20 mins to get there!

Goddess, you're lucky that happened, when I was in Luxor once, I was getting followed around by a toothless old man demanding money off me for letting me pass by him in the street :?: :?: :?:

We were in a restaurant and the MANAGER!! overpaid us by 100le :?

Hubby checks every bill and receipt  (it's an Egyptian thing) !!!

and quite a few times has handed them back their over paid change.

Do you know that in Egypt if you work in retail and they over CHANGE you, at the end of the day the money is deducted from the employee who was on that till

:)

That's why only certain people handle the money so they know who to deduct it from ;)

yes Ebikatsu knew the money is deducted from them and feel very sorry for them as they earn a pittance to start with but one thing for sure after a few mistakes they will soon learn to be careful :)

It's hardly their fault though when they have to pay for Stella that is claimed to be flat (Have you ever seen a decent head that lingers for more than 1 min on a Stella??) Or meals that are not to the customers liking, or when they have to pay for broken glasses and plates in a restaurant that the customers knock off the tables.

I have to really think twice before sending a meal back - because I know I'll get a replacement, but know that some innocent sap will have to pay for it.

Karenh problem is when you post anything to Egypt they charge you so much when you go to pick up your parcel that any discount you will get will be taken up with cost of postage and this duty that they charge you.I stopped my family sending anything to me and just relied on them bringing it with them when they came to visit ;) also post anything but realiable in Egypt, better than it used to be everynow and again i would have a whole batch of letters go missing God knows where they disappeared to as only one was ever returned to it's original poster. :)

I doubt most know that. :(

You really should check your change and give back if they overpay you because as you say they make a pittance.

I know of one guy who at the end of the month ended up paying his employer money because a tourist broke a radio and this poor guy was in charge and had to pay it back.
